Who is Dora The Explorer Anyway?

Just who exactly is Dora the Explorer anyway?

Her name is Dora, Dora Marquez.
But certainly there is much more to Dora the Explorer
than just her full name.

So, who is Dora?

She is someone who is always traveling.
Dora travels a lot,
which often leads to an adventure.

And in her little journeys
she is always ready to help someone.
We should all try be as helpful
as Dora!

But Dora the Explorer
also likes to ask for your help.
Maybe that’s because sometimes
we really do need to ask each other for help.
Are you ready
to lend a helping hand
to someone who needs it?

Although she is just a young girl,
Dora the Explorer is a teacher.
She teaches Spanish!
She often teaches us a new word or short phrase
in the Spanish language.

Yes,
Dora Marquez
is an Explorer
And
Dora is a teacher!

Dora always looks on the bright side of things.
She rarely gets angry,
even when Swiper tries to steal things.

Dora loves to give everyone the opportunity
to try something new.
Sometimes,
even though she can do something easily,
she likes to give others
the chance to try it.

Dora loves her family.
And Dora loves tradition.
She often shares with us
some of the traditions and customs
that are special to her.

Dora loves Boots very much.
Boots is a monkey.
Dora and Boots became best of friends
when Dora saved his red boots
from Swiper,
who was trying to “swipe” them.
(That Swiper,
he’s always trying to take something
that doesn’t belong to him!)
And that's also how he got his name,
because Boots wears red boots!

Dora loves baseball and soccer.
She plays baseball with Boots
and some other friends
on a team coached by her father.

Dora is a musician
She plays the flute very, very well.

We love
Dora the Explorer!
